Leaves leaves everywhere

Today, Howard brought a good variety of leaves to show everyone. Some are shown here. Amongst them are pandan, butterfly pea, bryophyllum, fishtail fern, peppermint. Can you identify them?

We practised our Observation Skill, with our sense of sight (shape, size, colour), sense of touch (hairy, smooth) and sense of smell (mint, laksa)

Limericks

Did you know that, according to wikipedia (click),
"A limerick is a five-line poem with a strict form (AABBA), originally popularized in English by Edward Lear, which intends to be witty or humorous, and is sometimes obscene with humorous intent." Some people say that the limerick was invented by soldiers returning from France to the Irish town of Limerick in the 1700's.

Well, we are not going to create any obscene ones, but we'll definitely make them funny and wacky :)

You can use the following to help you get started. When you are more confident, create your very own limericks! As you work with limericks, remember to have pun, I mean FUN! Then say the limericks out LOUD and clap to the rhythm.

Plants in school - Diversity, Systems

We had a lesson outside the classroom today.

Isn't it amazing that given the right conditions (sunlight, water, air, nutrients) , plants can grow anywhere? Even the tiny gap between the wall and the cement floor.
Countless (brown) sporebags on the underside of the Bird's Nest Fern

Plants in school - Diversity, Systems

Aerial roots hanging from ladder's fern

Samnang touching the roots of the water lettuce.

Ralph pointing to us the Dragon scale fern that is growing on the trunk of a mango tree.

Three boys and a root (of an old tree). The tree is chopped down but the roots remain.

Faizan pointing to plants that do not like sunlight very much. These plants are suitable for the indoors.

Mrs Leow conducted the Science lesson with the whole class in the earlier periods, no pics were taken then. These posed pics were taken when most of others were having mother tongue lessons. These 3 boys don't take CL/ML/TL mother tongue.
