Recently, the class came across a very interesting journal entry .. written by Lim Ix Shen .. We'd like to share it here :)
"I realised with a jolt, the other day, just how old I am. My age isn't something I've thought very much about before. Birthday celebrations have always been more about how yummy the cake was than the number of candles I was blowing out.
So it came as something of a shock to realise that I am now closer to ten years old. Mentally, I had been thinking of myself as eight. I have to admit, I went a little wild around the eyes at the realisation.
I wasn't panicking at the fact that the years are piling on, but more that I have to stop thinking I will play and have fun forever, and start making the most of everyday. There are things I can't put off anymore, like studying hard and be responsible to myself.
I suppose the signs were there all along, I was just too distracted to notice. I have grown taller, wiser and stronger. Weeks ago, I had my first spelling test and I got full mark! Now I do believe in "Where there is a will, there is a way".
We have just taken a peek into Ix Shen's thoughts about growing up .. being almost TEN! It was very well-written Ix Shen! Cheerios!
We look forward to seeing more writings from everyone in class on thoughts and feelings about growing and learning. You may write about anything at all .. share an experience! Be it an exciting one, sad one, scary one ..

Airy Science Concepts !! (Pun intended)
Hi Children :)
The following statements are spotted in a journal ..
Let's Discuss:
"I learnt that when there is nothing in the cup, it has air. But when there is a crumpled paper in the cup, there is no air."
Do you agree with these statements?
If you agree, why?
If you disagree, why?

Teasing the Lion
See the lion? It's throwing tantrums because the ball it was playing with is missing. Hey Amsyar, don't disturb the lion!
(Usually, two men are needed to play the part of lion. They wear patterned pants for the lion's legs. These men are trained to do stunts. Have you seen the stunts before? The man in front can, with a high jump, balance himself on the shoulders of the man behind! They need to be very skilful to do it :)
TPS celebrates Chinese New Year
We invited a dragon / lion dance troupe to our school !
Watch how the dragon chases after the 'pearl'! These men have to coordinate the movements .. each holding a pole that supports the body of the dragon. In the background, a few other men are playing the drums and cymbals. The noise and colours add to the celebratory mood :)

Recess Time! Yippee!
We learnt that to exercise our cardiovascular muscles well, we need to exercise and feel pulse rate of ~120 beats/minute for twenty minutes everyday. Beep bop! Beep bop! Beep bop! For some of us who haven't been exercising, let's start more slowly at ~100 beats/minute for ten minutes everyday :) Let's have a quick snack at the canteen and go play soccer at the school field! Girls are welcome to join in :) See you there!
Air Occupies Space
Later, we decided to stuff a piece of paper into the small cup to prove that air was indeed inside the small cup. (Did you notice that the water level in the beaker rose? What did that show?)

Fire! Fire!
We had a fire drill in school today. We also learnt something about Civil Defence. Video shows pupils of 4 Hope learning from officers from SCDF .. a few pupils got the chance to extinguish a flame earlier :)
(Video may be noisy as it is taken with a compact camera, no special mike used.)
